Ahmad Ayyad

Assistant Professor of Translation Studies

Translation Research and Instruction Program (TRIP); Middle Eastern and Ancient Mediterranean Studies

Background

Ahmad Ayyad is affiliated with TRIP and MEAMS, where he teaches courses in translation and Middle Eastern studies. Prior to joining 成人AV视频, he taught in Palestine and the United Kingdom. His research focuses on the intersection of translation, media and contemporary conflict in the Middle East, particularly the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He is interested in how translation and media discourses on this conflict shape the construction, circulation and contestation of narratives, dominant ideologies and asymmetric power relations in the region.

He is currently preparing his monograph, Translating the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict: Asymmetric Power Relations and Competing Political Ideologies, under contract with Palgrave Macmillan for the Languages at War series. His work has appeared in leading journals such as Translation Studies and Language and Politics, and he has presented his research in the United States, the United Kingdom, Qatar, Switzerland, Jordan and Belgium.
