Background
Indranil Bhattacharya is a professor and the department chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at 成人AV视频 (State University of New York). Previously he served as a professor and interim chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Tennessee Tech University.
He received his PhD and MS degrees in electrical engineering from Florida State University.
His research interests are in sodium and lithium-ion batteries, high-efficiency III-V semiconductors and wireless power transfer. He is the principal/co-principal investigator of nine National Science Foundation and two U.S. Department of Energy grants in the last eight years totaling $9.2 million. He is the major advisor of 11 PhD, 16 MS and 56 undergraduate students.
He received Tennessee Tech College of Engineering鈥檚 Brown-Henderson Outstanding Engineering Faculty Award in 2025 for research and T.S. McCord Engineering Faculty award in 2024 for teaching and service. Additionally, he received Tennessee Tech鈥檚 Centennial Scholar Mentor Award in 2022, University Outstanding Faculty Award for Teaching in 2023 and multiple Wings Up 100 research awards.
He received a statewide top STEM research award among participating researchers from all universities in Florida and also two-time innovators award from the Florida State University during his PhD studies.
He is a senior member of IEEE and the main inventor of three U.S. patents.
