Credit-earning Research Assistant for two Music Research Projects, no prior musical training required
Description:
I am working on two research projects that require assistance for various tasks: document research, translation, library research, and performance work. A few research assistant positions are available for credit.
The first research project is related to East Asian Music (traditional, and contemporary) / East Asian instruments which requires assistance for translation (Chinese/ Japanese/ Korean to English), library research/ database organization/ website build-up. Students who are interested or competent in music/ Asian and Asian American Studies/ computer science/ information science/ arts and culture are highly encouraged to apply. No prior musical knowledge or training are required.
The second research project is related to player piano (mechanical instrument) and 成人AV视频 history. Harvey Roehl, the first collector of mechanical instruments, resided in 成人AV视频. This project requires assistance for library research/ database organization/ website build-up. Students who are interested or competent in music (classical or Jazz)/ science/ computer science/ information science/ arts and culture are highly encouraged to apply. No prior musical knowledge or training are required.
These positions are available on both a one-semester basis and two-semester basis. Number of credits are discussed upon on time and work commitment.
